The Story of Patch Cat

While my dad's uncle stayed with us, he told me the story of his cat in New Zealand. His cat is a domestic black and white short hair. His fur color look like patch, That's why my dad's uncle called him " Patch Cat " He look similar to this guy ( my mom got the photo from internet )

Here is the story of Patch Cat. He love to go outside and visit neighbours' house like me. But it's more distance. You can imagine like live in the farm. Each house is quite far from each other. He will go out everyday and come home at night time.

One night, he didn't return home. My dad's uncle whistled and called his name but he didn't see the patch cat. Two days he was disappear. My dad's uncle and his wife did ask their neighbours but no one seen him. My dad's uncle think he might be dead.

Next day, The house near by cleaned up the ash underneath the fire place. When he used the tool ( mom don't know what it call ) push into the bottom and then he just saw the black thing fly out from the fire place and ran out to the field and then disappear.

At that night my dad's uncle heard " Mieaw " at his bed room's window. He and his wife look outside but couldn't see anything except the eyes shine in the dark. They both got out and found his body filled with black ash. He said he can't see any white...All body is Black !

His wife took Patch Cat to the bath and washed him with warm water. My dad's uncle said the water in the whole bath turned to BLACK !!!! and took an hour to wash him.

The next day, My dad's uncle talked to his neighbour ( the one who cleaned fire place ) so they think what was happened is...

The Patch Cat might follow the bird and then suddenly drop into the chimney and then he stuck in the Ash Pit Area and in some reason he can't get out till the neighbour clean up the fire place.

The neighbours said when he ran out to the field, He must fly because he didn't see his paws touch the ground !

I bet Patch was very frighted. What an adventure. Mind you, he could have bumped into Father Christmas and he would have helped him :)

Oh my gosh, Mr. Puddy - what a story about Patch Cat! He must have been scared to death! We're sure your uncle was so very glad to see him again. We hope he doesn't chase birdies down chimneys anymore!

We also wanted to tell you that we think you have good taste in tv/movie guys - we think Wolverine is much cooler than Dexter or Harry!!!

Your friends, Fuzzy and Zoe

Well, that story had me worried until we found out Patch Cat was okay! Very scary. I'm glad dogs don't go up on roofs to chase birds.

OMC! What a story!!! He is such a lucky cat to have been found that way. So glad he was able to get back home after that scary ordeal!

We all talked and agree that Patch was one lucky kitty to survive that!

We once had a squirrel fall down our chimney and into the fireplace (no fire burning at the time). All the kitties who lived here at the time were meowing "Thank You Cod!", but they were not allowed to eat him.

What an amazing story of a very lucky cat named Patch. I smiled at the ending, and I am so glad Patches made it out okay. I am thankful for your diagram, as our stove doesn't have a cleanout area, we have to take the ashes out the front when the fire is dead.

Wot an adventure Patch had. mom's siamese (1985 ~ 2004) also fell down a neighbour's chimney and got covered in ash dust! He was fine after though ~ just dirty!

Wow !!
Patch miraculously returned to life.
Santa Claus is said to enter houses through the chimney.
However, Please do not attempt !
