Sooky La-La Mommy

When the Sadness strikes to my mom and hot tears fall.
As a furry son !
This is a very hard task !

I must decide to treat her right !

First of all, I have to make sure she know I do care about her. So I grab one of her leg by my two front paws. She does look at me and got my message. She feel overwhelming her son do care about her.

A Sooky La-La Mommy think I'm going to give her a kiss or want to sit on her lap to comfort her like many cat books said " Cat always know when you feel sad, They always comfort you "

With full positive thought, Mom start to grab me while her tear keeps falling down. But sadly, what she thought it's not my style !

My style is....." LOVE BITE "

Not Sweet , But It's works so well!!!

Mom suddenly stop crying and forgot about her sadness because this is a crucial time ! She have to protect her arm immediately before my fangs dig into her skin !

Sharp ! Unexpectation ! And distracted !

I think I do the right thing ! Because she was end up with panic, smile and then play with me. She think I have a strange way to comfort her  but she accepted it's very effective !

Now I wonder how you guys comfort your pawrents when they do sooky la-la ?

I love your comforting technique, Mr. Puddy! I usually just go away and come back when she is feeling better.

I sure am glad you were there for your Mom so you can cheer her up Mr. Puddy! I usually chase one of my sisters...that works here!

We usually give her a little space--Mommy is a wailer and her noises scare us! Rupert sometimes gets upset and does his "kek kek kek" for attention to distract her. But Puddy, we think the love bite is a fantastic idea, and we're gonna give it a try.

Just love the picture on your Love bite !!!
Thank´s for the tips about that :)

Awww.. that was so sweet of you, to take care of your mom like that. Mostly we just snuggle, if we're in the mood.

You're one in a million Puddy!!!

You did right, Mr Puddy; take her attention off what upset her, but... anyway, I wish your mom all the best and that she can smile again, and let us share your marvellous adventures!

Love bites do the trick here too!

Yes, distracting her is a good idea.

Mr. Puddy you are one fine mancat. I think you should get your own tv show. You're much better at psychology than that silly Dr. Phil.

Puddy, as someone else said, you ARE one in a million. I LOVED seeing those fangs for your love bite. Um..hope it wasn't too too strong and mighty a bitey?

A Bitey is just another way of showing your love!

Mr Puddy
The last time Mom did a BIG BOO HOO I was sitting in her lap and she needed me to help here, so I turned over on my back and showed her my tummy and purred the loudest my purr box would allow me to purr. It worked she stopped and collected herself and I let her touch the Abby tum. (which is usually off limits)

Puddy I never heard of "Sooky La La" before. What is the meaning of that? Does it mean sadness or crying? I like that term!

Puddy I have to say you are definitely one of a kind! You bite your Mom so that she only thinks of the pain of your bite instead of the pain in her heart. You are a sly one Puddy!

I say whatever works!
Cody often could care less if I am crying. He stares at me and will walk right past me. My Bobo used to lick my hand when I was crying...he loved to comfort me!

We use the bitey technique all the time and find it very effective (especially if we distract her when she has to clean up the blood).

Oh Mr. Puddy!! I never expected love bite as the way to comfort your mom!
But I can tell, it is very effective! This is the best way to distract your mom and make her forget about sad things. You are so cute that she will be smiling so happily!

What a good son you are :-)

It's so sweet of you to comfort your mom! When mine cries, I snuggle up to her and give her kisses.

Mr. Puddy, you're the best! I snuggle with my mom when she's upset but I don't like it if I get dripped on!

Mr. Puddy,

Youse has a strange way of comforting your Mom..a Love Bite!!!.. Wow, that looks like the snaggle toothed tiger bite!!!

We's just snuggle Mom when the waters flow!

OKcats said...

Mr. Puddy, we didn't want to laugh, and we certainly didn't laugh because your Mommy was crying, but that photo of you giving her the bitey was hilarious! We have to admit, we're not very good comfort-givers to our mom.

BeadedTail said...

Mr. Puddy, we're glad your love bitey helped your mommy feel better! We just lay on our mommy and purr but we'll try a bitey sometime.

Angel Simba said...

I hope your Mom doesn't get sad again. I also would like to know what Sooky La La means.

Ann Dziemianowicz said...

The love bite! Looks quite effective. I like that shot of you Mr. Puddy. As long as it is not the vampire bite! :)

Glad you made your mom happy again.

Just Ducky said...

Yes it can be good to distract the humans with a quick sharp bite. Then comfort with lots of purrs.

Raymond and Busby said...

An interesting question, Mr P, because our Moms have been weepy lately so we have recent experience. We find that throwing our bodies into their laps and pinning them down and then staring deeply into their eyes works really well. But we may try that love bite thing you do!

Zippy, Sadie, Speedy and M'Gee said...

Gosh, our mom doesn't cry very often but when she does we leave all comforting up to Speedy. We usually show up after he stops her from crying He usually just kisses her but he might try dat love bite thing...if he can actually manage it. He's never bitten any living thing in his life! We to wonder about that term "sooky la-la", is that like "depression"? Or is it just a general sadness?

Oh Cod! When the Human starts to leak, Spitty just stalks off in the opposite direction. What am I, crazy?

Catio Tales said...

we wondered if your photos were wrong - after a bite like that wethinks any human would cry!!! But seriously, you are on great mancat to look after her like that - so caring. I leave it to our elder statesmen- Stran-veli and RIlli-ukko is Äiti is upset. They usually sit by her in a very strong and manly way. Stran has sometimes held out a paw for her to hold.

A love bitey to soothe a crying Mummy. What a good son you are. :)
We normally sit close to Mummy (sometimes on her hands!) if she is feeling a little sad...

Puddy, that love bite pic is AWESOME! Distraction always werks! We will try owt yoor method!
We hope yoor mom is feeling better.

he he - I don't think I've ever seen M cry other den leaky eyes because one of my pals crossed the bridge. I'd probably leave her alone tho. ha ha - you are so funny.

Princess Jasmine said...

Simba tells me that Figgy who went to the bridge nearly a year ago was very good at comforting the hoomans. Simba sort of does the same thing, just sitting with the hoomans when they are sad. I think I have lots to learn about all this teary type stuff. I think you are doing a good job at distracting your mummy from the sads :)xx

Now, Mr. Puddy, I would call that thinking on your feet. Not all cats are clever enough to resort to reverse psychology. Or is it Tough Love?

OKcats said...

Hi Mr. Puddy! I think that maybe you misunderstood my post today, and I didn't want you or your mom upset! I was saying that the boy cats that I have had were very good at taking care of me when I was sad or hurt or sick. But the girl cats I have now are not as good at it - they ignore me when I'm not feeling well! I love them all, and I would never trade them in! I do accept them for who they are and love them no matter what. :)

You are a cat after my own heart. Yes, biting does help beans feel better and get over themselves.

My Mind's Eye said...

Hi Puddy you are a good and faithful fur son and you know just how to make Mom smile.
Sometimes especially when Mom is wearing jeans I love to stand on my hind legs and walk my front legs up high on her jeans and paw at the leg seam. Makes a nice scratching post. MOL

Mr. Puddy..you are one special kitty to cheer your mom up.

We like to give love bites too.

Mr Puddy, that love bite sounds like a great idea. We usually just sit with our Mom when she is upset about something. Or we just sit there and wonder what is the matter with her. Glad you take such good care of your Mom.

Hmmm, your tactic to make your mom feel better is different. Sounds kind of painful. But, hey, if it works for you ....

We hope your mom isn't sad any more.

Angel Ginger Jasper said...

Oh Puddy poor mum I hope the sads have gone now.. Your method seems to work but I purr and cuddle my mum.. Hugs GJ xx

The Very Best Cats said...

Wow, Mr Puddy, we never thought of that! We are going to have to try your technique and see if it works for our Mom.

Clooney said...

You folks are so funny! We likes the "sooky la-la"! Ok. Puddy, listen up. Instead of the bitey, next time you has to cheer your Mom up by going into "stuffed animal" mode like I do. You gets really loveable looking, gives the "googly eyes" to her, then assumes the position for a tummy rub and then "sooky la-la" will be gone...

one of Fae's humans said...

awww, it's sweet that you show your mom that you care. :) Fae seems to do love/play bites too and to me as a human love bites are kind of confusing!

somehow i don't think Fae would be happy if i bit her back. :P

we hope your mom feeling better and not sad? We use bum sitting comfort approach and stare into face at close quarters. It always ends in cuddles (mutual). Love Darcy, Bingley xx
