First of all, Me have to thanks to some Thai Human who imported Maine Coon kitties here. Otherwise it's no way my pawrents can find a huge litter boxes for me. Most popular litter here is clay which I prefer to use. I'm not a fan of Pine Litter or Silica Cat Litter. So this is two brand I did get start...
Any Good ?
Both brand has strong smell of apple. What it do to me ? After me used da litter box, I couldn't tell mom did clean my litter box yet or my gross is still there so me don't dare to use litter box again. I hold my poop & pee because me feel it's too risky to use litter box. Think about it ! ... if I dig and me touch my own poop ! EW !!! ...so my pawrents often have to put me into the box. ( to let me know it's clean ! )
Then mom & dad found the better litter for me.
It's charcoal mix clay. It's no Smell ! It's better !
But whatever brandI I use , One thing still remains...
Cat Litter here like QUICK SAND !
Once you dig, it keeps pour back to your paws.
Gross bit ! ... After you've done your business and try to cover your own pee like good kitty does, Da clumping clay will run back to your paws in fast speed ! Your fur will glue by wet clumping pee !!!
Since that happens, Me never cover my pee ever again !
For hard product, I do cover some time. It's up what speed of the clay.
Me is a good kitty but.... Sometime, me need to run from...
You know ? That's thing !

We use clumping litter, Puddy...and we've yet to get sucked into it like quicksand. ;). We hope you can find a litter you like.
Quicksand? We don't blame you for running away from that, Puddy! We sure hope you find a good litter for you real soon.
Hugs!
Two words: HOLY CRAP!!!
The litter in your new country sounds kind of weird, Mr. Puddy... and kind of scary too!
OMC! Quicksand litter sounds scary. I will only use clay litter (or the greenhouse) but mine goes into nice round clumps and doesn't try to attack me. When I poop, I cover but then I run from it like my tail is on fire!
aaawwww Puddy!
Trial and error is the name of your life.
Hope things settle down real soon for you and the family. Don't get sick in the meantime by holding your business. Go potty! And don't start spraying out of anxiety.
xoxoxox
Litter with a smell of apples? That is very weird. We noticed the litter on the right in the first photo is from Japan. When #1 lived in Japan, she bought really good liter but it had no smell. Anyway, the important thing is that the litter box is the right size and the litter is the right kind!

Oh no Puddy, sure sounds like you and the litter are just having a little war. Hope you all can get it all straightened out. We sure don't want Puddy to lose his paws. You all have a wonderful day.
I saw a horrible movie from the 1950s called The Clumping Litter Quicksand. Don't watch it, Puddy, it's too scary! ;-)
We use clumping litter Puddy - it's great as you can just scoop the clumps out when it has been used and the litter itself only needs to be replaced once a week.
Oh no, Mr Puddy!
We're with you about the litter. Clay all the way! Some of that clumping stuff got stuck in long hair brother feet, he lick it to get it off , Mum threw the stuff away. Maybe a vet can tell you where to buy the good stuff.
Hang in there pal.
Oh Puddy, you're too funny. :))
I hope you get used to the new litter Mr. Puddy and your Mom probably does too!
We don't blame you for not wanting to sink into the quicksand!
You know, a lot of us kitties don't even use boxes that were sold intending to be used for cat litter boxes because even in the US it can be hard to find big enough litter boxes. If your humans have trouble finding a big enough box, maybe they can find a storage bin that is the right size or even use something from the hardware store that is for mixing mortar. Sometimes we have to be creative to get a big enough box! We don't have any ideas about the quicksand, though.
Oh Puddy - this moving to a new country is fraught with challenges at every turn. Hang in there. You'll overcome each and every one in time and life will go back to being serene.

Mr Puddy we hope you find a litter you like!! We don't want you disappearing in Quicksand!
Mr. Puddy, crossing our paws you find the right kind of litter for you.
Mr Puddy, this is very hard on you and certainly your parents. I hope that you can get a large storage pan for your litterbox as Sometimes Cats Herd You suggested. You are a very big boy and you need a LOT of room. xoxox
Sounds like it's going to be a long time adjusting to the new litters there. Glad you escaped with your life. :)
Querido Puddy, fico contente que você gostou da caixa de areia nova.
Ficar sem fazer xixi e cocô é horrível, imagino a preocupação que os seus
pais ficaram.
Cafunés menino bonito!
Poor Mr Puddy.
Poor Mr. Puddy, none of those sound very good.
poor Puddy!!! Cat litter like quick sand??? OMC!!!! That's awful! You need to start your own litter company Puddy! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
We use clumping litter, unscented, with charcoal. That's what the vet said to use. Skootch gets dirty litter stuck between his toe feathers a lot, and Mom has to clean his toes out (which he hates). We hope you can find the purrfect litter soon!
Hi Mr.Puddy, I haven't popped by your page for a long time,I can see that lots of things have been happening to you :) Sadly my lovely Misty died last year, but we now have two gorgeous black and white kitties, which we got when they were 3 months old. One of them looks a bit like you :) We love them to bits:D Oh and our kitties use garden peat in their litter box, we have used that for all our kitties, no quicksand effect, and it gets them used to using the garden proper when they are out. The hard waste gets disposed of and the rest gets re-cycled onto the garden,it works well for us. Have fun in your new home, Merlin and Loki sent their kitty love x
Haha, we won't blame you for running, Mr. Puddy :-)
So many things have changed and it must be really hard for you. Holding poop and pee must have worried your pawrents a lot. I hope you are not stressing too much. Kisses to you xoxo
My goodness Puddy Buster runs for it too and he is not using the quick clump or whatever :) You are a funny story teller which we miss when you don't blog.
Emma and Buster
Oh Puddy, I am so sorry your litter box and you are not very compatible! Poor Puddy and poor Puddy's parents, too!
Our kitties use a large plastic storage bin with the lid off because it is such a good size so maybe that would help you. (I see above some others also use them.)
Could you call around to some of the cat shelters there, and Vets., too, to see what other kinds of litter might be better for you? I hope you can find one you like to use soon.
I love you, Mr. Puddy!
Lily and her all black kitty Tommy Snuggles
Yikes! We purr you find a litter that won't try to cover you Mr Puddy!
Sounds like using the litterbox is a challange!
MOL!
Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure and JJ
OMC! Quicksand litter! Run for your life. Do you have more than one box? I'm an only kitty and I have two for when one gets dirty.
Have yer Beins considered a small child pool fer lots of clean spaces for "your business"?
Oh boy I hope you get some decent litter soon, that stuff is NOT making you a happy cat :-(
Oh dear Puddy, we are sad that the litter is such a mess. We use a plastic storage container (Large for three of us). Mom says when she wins the lottery she will send all the good litter you like!
Oh my goodness, Mr. Puddy!
Mr. Puddy I hear you. I don't like my litter to change one bit. I like what I like and nuttin' else. Thank goodness you have worked out the issue and your plumbing is free flowing
Hugs madi your bfff
no matter how bad the litter is Mr. Puddy, you should not hold in your poop and pee. That's not good.
The right litter is so important! We're glad the charcoal one works better for you.
Oh Puddy me's so sorry you be havin' purroblems with da clay. We wouldn't like da pink/red color either. Me would be at da VET all da time and dat's a bad thing. Me doesn't use clay litter, me uses wheat. Sure hope you don't get lost in da litter box of quicksand and hope you find something you like soon. Apples? Why would a litter smell like apples?
Luv ya'
Dezi
